FIND A GOOD TOPIC

Difficult things to do in PhD is find a good topic. I need to read 10 journals every day, find the research problem, research question and so on.. I read and read but still blur with my areas. I discuss with my supervisor, my topic is too general and need to narrow down the issue. Avoid topics which may induce strong reactions, avoid topics which are overly ambitious (motivated) and overly challenging. Here are the tips that I can share with you:

Selection of research topic should be based on
Magnitude of the problem and its impact
Urgency of the need for a solution.
Relevance to the aim of the funding agency.
Amenability of the problem to investigation.
           Feasibility of the approach.
           Chances of success, etc.
